Crown reduction in Stockton
When a tree is too tall for the yard, the work is a reduction of the crown, not a flat top cut for the sake of it.
Crown reduction means shortening the height or the spread by cutting back to suitable laterals, so the tree stays a tree. It is not the same as shearing a cypress into a column, and it is not a promise that every species should be reduced.
The right amount depends on the species, the structure, and why the height is a problem: roof clearance, light, or a tree that worries you in wind. We will say if removal is the more honest option.
